Fall Festivities
/Ok - so - I have like zero time - ZERO. In a nutshell, kids are sick, we are sick, we don't sleep, I am working, we are super fun and popular and have super fun, popular people things to do (wait - NOPE - that's not it). Just the sick family and the NO sleeping AND the working. Enough about that...
Mostly, we've just been busy doing "fall" and all that it brings. Normally, I do a huge long winded post about how much I love the smells, the feels, the sounds, the colours, the cider, the blankets, the nesting, the 'cozy'ing. Let's just call it a long winded run on sentence and move on.
Here's what's been up...
Family walks...
Very first visit to the Zoo (a.k.a Nola's happy place)
She fell hard. SUPER HARD for all the zoo had to offer, especially the baby elephants. The animals, the aquarium, the freedom to roam and run. It basically represents everything she stands for. The only time she had a frown was when she couldn't kiss the baby elephant. Oh and also, when she realized she was on a leash. Pfft...minor details.
Her 'look-nola-there's-an-elephant face'. Obvi, she's making the sound an elephant makes.
I don't care judge all you want. She can't be trusted around large animals that could swallow her in one bite.
They were both very impressed with the aquarium.
First Hair Cuts
It seems like a bit of a fall tradition that Hazel and I get our haircut together. This year we had a new joiner. Nola got about 3 hairs cut. The stylist (who happens to be a long time family friend) tried to say it didn't count but she was wearing a cape, sitting in the chair and he had the scissors held up to her hair. I'm SORRY but that counts!!!!
Those hairs right there are the ones she got cut. Hazel brushing up on fall fashion trends.
Early 40th Birthday Party
It's too bad it had to happen to such an amazing person but Matt is turning 40. Eeeeeeeshhhh!!! Poor guy. Well, we had an early birthday party for him that could NOT have been more perfect. The perfect guest list, menu and atmosphere - cottage, tents, beers, whiskey and the sound of laughter and reminiscing that was so loud we couldn't hear the music at ALL. Great times for a great man.
This was how I healed the dead from his ailments the next day. By 'the dead' I mean Matt and by 'aliments' I mean hangover.
Happy Fall Y'all!!! Hope it's treating you well.
